Well which one deisgn?

Well there is only one real choice and that is where you are going to sail. In fact where you are going to live.

The next thing is if you can choose and you have cash then is your budget going to pay for your part of the learning curve or be wrong sized to the class in either sense.

Now if you have a choice of boats, then it is crew number and management.

So now you are maybe down to two boat types so now it is the fourth dimension. What class is taking you where you are going ?

In the past there was 'spinnaker, no spinnaker' and outside the pedestriann Snipe or lively Tasar, then now the question is assym or not? I say opt assy spinnaker because we sail W L. With river or narrow sounds then yeah, opt out. Also of course if you wont fit in with your personal leafrning curve or if the other fleert with their Guys are tighter and better on average then that is a factor.

After that it is just getting a boat. Often in fact that is what pulls people into od rather than od followers per se.

New one designs will flourish one day once we all go through some pain and eventually get access to capital and credit that for now only a few as the middle class gentlemen we, line the pockets of the spivs and chancers who have the cash but not the class to race, ahem, in class!
